Organizing Trail Meals / Menus

Does anyone have any tips for organizing their trail food options? I am trying to organize a variety of recipes I've collected that we like to make on the trail, but I'm struggling to find a functional way to organize them so that it is convenient to pick breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks, but also easy to figure out what I'm shopping for. I can definitely go to the super-organized-excel-spreadsheet end of things, but i certainly could be down with notecards in a recipe box too.
