I use a Flex Air inflatable pillow at .56oz. Great addition, but it does tend to move out of position on occasions.

I made a thin cotton (feels like home) pillowcase with velcro that is exactly the size I like for a pillow. I use it as a small clothing stuff sack in my pack and then stuff it to the thickness I'm in the mood for at night in the hammock.

It was easy to keep it dry this summer because of the drought. Most of the commercial pillows I've come across are too small for me and it was simple to make my own.

I didnt see a choice for "something not designed to be a pillow but works nonetheless" so I chose commercial. I recently tried a hospital grade disposable that some of the cottage guys are selling but found that to be like sleeping on a greased pig, couldnt keep it in place very well if at all.
So, despite the weight I am back to using my 2 chamber arm floatie. This time of year wally world and others will have the child's arm floaties for a great discount- usually $0.25 or so. With a soft tyvek like case the pillow comes in at 1.5 ounces. One of the few items that I use that cant fit the "multi use" profile. Oh well, to me its worth it.

I just use the stuff sac that has whatever clothes I'm not wearing in it...in the summer, it's not much of a pillow...but this thread has me thinking, I got
lucky and picked up a set of the OP semi-waterproof bags at wallyworld due
to another thread here, a thread I cannot find, but I use one of them for
gorp, and it's in it's own plastic bag, and as it depletes I could start shoving
the "worn" clothes into it, and use that as a pillow maybe...

The hammock makes its own pillow, I find. However, I usually put some insulation under my head in cold weather. I improvise a pillow while reading in the hammock.

My Hammock pillow is a silnylon stuff sack that is lined with fleece. I will turn the sack so the fleece is on the outside and then use extra cloths of other gear to make the pillow.

I have a zippered travel pillow case and the inflatable pillow that came with a sleeping bag. The inflatable pillow doesn't have tenure. I'll be experimenting with stuffing a bag with dry leaves or pine needles.

That's a great idea! Will be making a fleece lined silsack tonight...another dual purpose item. Thanks!

HAve tried a small pillow, a small nylon tarp in a stuff sack and other items but find no pillow is just as good in a hammock.
