Choosing down vs. synthetic bag
After 30+ years of service from my down sleeping bag I'm about to replace it. My impulse is to get another down one, but I'd like to hear others' opinions on synthetic bags. Weight isn't as big an issue as it used to be, I rarely do more than 5 miles in a day now. From what I gather, the big performance difference is that synthetic bags will still insulate if they get wet (in all the years I used that old bag I never was in that situation). What are all your thoughts on this decision? NOTE: The remainder of this post can be read by logging in. For free PBF membership click here

If you lasted 30+ years without ever really getting your down bag wet, I would stay with the down. NOTE: The remainder of this post can be read by logging in. For free PBF membership click here
