Pie Iron Cooking

If you ever use a pie iron on your camping trips, please share some of your favorites recipes/creations.

Some ideas to get things going include:
  • Grilled cheese
  • Fruit pie
  • Omelet
  • Cornbread
  • Pizza
  • French Toast
Also, please indicate your preference for a cast iron or aluminum pie iron. [Note: Aluminum can melt or warp but is lighter. There could also be problems with the Teflon. Cast iron could be harder to clean and heavy to hold (though it can be propped).]
