Lightest, smallest Digital SLR, Olympus E400

Hi
This is the camera I hinted at some time ago, now is out.
Olympus E400. With lens ( a new 14-42mm) it is almost exactly the same weight as the Canon Rebel X body (19.6 oz) . With that there is a new 40-150mm (80-300) at 9oz

Quit trying to get us all excited Franco...

If you read the blurb on dpreview, you see the unfortunate news for people here in the states:

Quote:
The slightly odd, sad news, for many of our readers is that this camera will not be available in North America (news I'm sure that will go down like a lead balloon on our forums). That makes it the first digital SLR not to have a worldwide release, so get ready for the grey imports.

How do I get one?

Give it a little time and you find grey market models - no warranty, no service, but usually cheap.

It will be sold here in Australia. I'll let you know when we get it....
BTW I am not convinced that it will not be available over there. I think that someone got the wrong message.

I have been thinking about the E400 and the non US release. How about Olympus launching the same body with different sensors inside, for example a Panasonic and a Kodak , in different parts of the globe?
