A Compact Moneybelt
Use your nylon belt and sew on a light zipper to the buckle side. I use the light continuous-coil zippers from the fabric shop in the widest form and a color to match the belt (and thread ditto). You can fold bills lengthwise into quarters and fit several inside the pocket formed by the zipper. It's a good way to carry money on the trail inconspicuously and safely.
