Ice Axe Advice

I am attending a mountaineering school next year in the NY Adirondacks. I need to get a general use ice axe. I have the feeling I will only use it for this class and never use it for ice climbing. I am trying to assemble all the stuff I need without breaking the bank. I would like some recommendations of a general use axe. I am 5'8'' and about 210 lbs if that has any impact NOTE: The remainder of this post can be read by logging in. For free PBF membership click here
