PBP Episode 41 - Backpacking Couple

PBP Episode 41 - Backpacking Couple

Quote:
In this episode Lawton Grinter (Disco) and Felicia Hermosillo (P.O.D.) share what it was like to backpack as a couple for over 5,000 miles.

In recent years, the couple hiked both the Continental Divide Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, living on love, patience, trial and error, and whatever they could fit into their modest backpacks.

Having spent nearly every minute and mile after mile with mere paces between them, the two learned a lot about each other, themselves, and even how to yogi a thing or two. Listen in to laugh, learn, and dream as this adventurous duo shares their memorable journey.

this was a delightful podcast. I did find myself rather wistful at times, my perception being that my partner would not consider taking a summer off to hike with me.
i liked what POD said about choosing love over frustration. this is an absolute life lesson and is not only for couples on the trail.
good one, Reality

Already fans of Disco and POD from The Walkumentary, I really enjoyed listening to Reality's conversation with them - great job! When's the Matty (aka Speedo) podcast?

I have to add another key ingredient to successful and sustainable on-trail relationships - with either a life partner or just one for a week: a sense of humor. Patience and kindness and love are all well and good, but it's mountains better if you can laugh at yourself and together in dark times.

Just listened to this on my iPod as I took my morning walk. Really enjoyed hearing their tale. I've met them at several get-togethers.

I really enjoyed this podcast too. I especially liked Reality's question about what would you do if one of you had to leave the trail.
