I have an inexpensive down sleeping bag for spring and fall use. The rating is 40 degrees which is somewhat optimistic.
It seems to me that I could make a few small cuts in the shell and insert some down in select areas and boost the rating down to where it should be. I was even thinking I could use a down pillow for the source of filler. Does this seem reasonable and has anyone done it? Glenn NOTE: The remainder of this post can be read by logging in.
