The Pyrenees: Land of Cirques, Glaciers, & Pasturelands 8/27 – 9/3/2011 Part 4 of 4

After enjoying lunch and the scenery, we began our hike over the trails and switchbacks of the road which plunged down off the floor of the cirque and into the valley of the Gave de Héas. We paused at the Le Maillet Hôtellrie for refreshment and noted with interest that the attendant was scouring the base of the slopes above with a pair of binoculars for edible mushrooms which he called agaric.
