Cold weather - two sleeping mats?

I've never actually managed to drag my butt out in the winter, but I'm thinking about trying it out this year. I have two mats right now - a BA Insulate Air Core that I use, and a Therm-a-rest Ridgerest that I retired a while ago.

If I throw both under me for extra insulation, which way will insulate better - air mattress on top or bottom? I'm thinking air mattress on top (it's also more comfortable), but I'm not sure. NOTE: The remainder of this post can be read by logging in. For free PBF membership click here
